Prescription Drug Addiction Treatment
Treatment starts with an honest look at what you're taking, how much, and how long you've been at it. From there we map out a plan that moves from safe medical detox into therapy and long-term aftercare. We use evidence-based methods, and we adjust the plan as your needs change.
How Lousage Institute Treats Prescription Drug Addiction
Treatment starts with a clinical assessment. We look at what you're taking, how long you've been taking it, and what your body does when the dose drops. That tells us where you start.
Some prescription drugs, opioids and benzodiazepines especially, produce withdrawal that needs medical supervision. When that's the case, we begin with medical detox so a clinician manages symptoms as they come. From there you move into residential care or an intensive outpatient program, depending on what your life and recovery need.
If anxiety, depression, or another mental health condition is part of the picture, we treat it alongside the addiction. Pulling them apart rarely works. We keep the whole thing in one plan.
Therapies We Use
Your care plan starts with an assessment, then we build the mix that fits what you're actually dealing with. That usually means cognitive behavioral therapy to work through the thinking behind use, group therapy to practice it with others, and family support when the people close to you need to be part of recovery. When it's clinically appropriate, we add medication-assisted treatment.
