Heroin Addiction Treatment
Detox comes first. At Lousage Institute, we start with medically supervised heroin withdrawal, then move you into structured therapy that treats the reasons behind the use. We stay with you through long-term aftercare, adjusting the plan as your recovery changes. Every step is evidence-based and built around your situation.
How Lousage Institute Treats Heroin Addiction
Treatment for heroin addiction starts with a clinical assessment. We sit down with you, look at how long you have been using, how your body responds when you stop, and what else is going on with your mental health. That assessment sets your level of care.
Heroin withdrawal is physically hard. Cramping, nausea, sweating, and deep restlessness usually peak in the first days. When that is the picture, we begin with medical detox so the process is monitored and managed, not endured alone.
From there you move into residential care or an intensive outpatient program, depending on what fits your life. If anxiety, depression, or trauma are part of this, we treat them alongside the addiction, in the same plan, with the same team.
Therapies We Use
Your care plan starts with an assessment, then we build the mix that fits what you're actually dealing with. That usually means cognitive behavioral therapy to work through the thinking behind use, group therapy to practice it with others, and family support when the people close to you need to be part of recovery. When it's clinically appropriate, we add medication-assisted treatment.
