How Lousage Institute Treats Opioid Addiction
Treatment starts with a clinical assessment. We sit down with you, look at how long the opioid use has gone on, what you're using, and your physical and mental health, and from there we recommend a level of care that fits.
Opioid withdrawal is rough. Body aches, nausea, sweating, insomnia, and cravings that hit hard in the first days. When that's the case, we begin with medical detox, where our staff manages symptoms so you're not doing it alone.
After detox, care continues in either residential treatment or an intensive outpatient program, depending on what your life allows. If depression, anxiety, or trauma sits underneath the addiction, we treat both at the same time. Separating them doesn't work.
Therapies We Use
Your care plan starts with an assessment, then we build the mix that fits what you're actually dealing with. That usually means cognitive behavioral therapy to work through the thinking behind use, group therapy to practice it with others, and family support when the people close to you need to be part of recovery. When it's clinically appropriate, we add medication-assisted treatment.
